10 Blog Monetization Strategies You Should Be Using If You Want To Make More Money Blogging
If your struggling to make any significant amount of money online from your blog. I am going to give you 10 of my best blog monetization tips from my experience blogging from the past 4 years that will put more money in your pockets, and turn more of your hard work into cold hard cash money:)
Content is king online. If your lacking in quality content try staying more consistent with your blogging, and at a minimum add at the very least 1 quality blog post weekly. If you can update your blog 2-3 times a week or more even better. Stay consistent with the quality, and the frequency of your blog posts, and watch your blogs traffic slowly climb.
Proper Spacing – Do not add big blobs of text together, and cram them with affiliate links, and expect actual human beings to stick around and read them. 2-3 sentences per paragraph with a relevant affiliate link here and there, that is highly visible, works best for readability, and results.
Keyword Research – I always use the free Google adwords keyword research tool to find highly searched, low competition keyword phrases, to implement in my blog post titles, and sporadically throughout my text. ( Note: ) I still use basic seo strategies, but you should always remember to write for people first, and the search engines a distant second.
Capture Leads – My blog https://jaysonlinereviews.com for example is my little lead capturing machine:) Here are my lead monetization strategies. I have a lightbox popup form setup that is set to greet a visitor at 5 seconds, I have a picture of me that links to my sign up form. ( See top right hand side picture on blog and click:) ) I also have opt-in forms on the top and bottom of every blog post that I publish to capture as many email leads as possible with my blog posts.
Note: Most of the visitors who will visit your blog will never return. This is why it is mandatory that you capture some of the traffic that your blog receives, so that you can turn them into paying customers somewhere in the near future.
Professional Appearance – Appearance is everything if you want people to take you, and your blog seriously, by sticking around and actually listening to what you have to say. If your blogging create your blog so that it looks like you actually know what the heck that you are doing! Your priorities should be to create a professional looking blog header, insert pictures in your blog posts, ( I find pictures on Flickr with the creative commons license. ) Make your blog easy to navigate, and easy on the eyes like that hot guy or girl at work:) Visitors will tend to stick around if your blogs content, and appearance is of high quality. This equals increased sales, and a decreased bounce rate. Make it pretty people:)
Seo Plugins – If your using the wordpress platform for your blog their are numerous free seo plugins that you can upload for seo purposes. I use the Greg’s high performance seo plugin it’s lightweight, fast, and does what it’s supposed to do by helping your blog posts rank higher in the search engines:).
Permalinks – ( Important! ) Not to many people discuss the importance of permalinks, or even know what they are for that matter! Permalinks add the keywords of the title of your blog post, and turns it into a url when you publish your blog posts.
***** Based on my experience with @ without permalinks you are way better off using permalinks, than you are without them. Using permalinks will translate into more money from your blog because of the increase of search engine traffic you will see when using them. If your using WordPress just search the plugins, type in permalinks, find one you like, activate it, and start using permalinks and see your blog posts rank a lot higher in the search engines. *****
Banner Ads – Less is more! I have played around with banner placement on my blog for years now. I have also come up with the conclusion that less is more. Do not give your blog visitors to many options to leave your blog, or overwhelm them with to many advertisements. This will only make your blogs sales go down, and increase your blogs bounce rate. Henry Ford was asked years ago what was his secret to selling so many model T’s back in the day. Henry Ford replied “I give my customers 2 options. They can buy the model T in black or black:)” By limiting a potential customers options you will increase your sales like Henry Ford did back in the day. Depending on your blogs theme, and using mine as an example. I monetize my blog by adding 1 high quality offer above all the content using my blogs widgets, and a few on my blogs sidebar widget, and no more!
Grammar – This should be self explanatory. Check your blog posts before publishing them for grammar and spelling errors. This goes back to appearance. Be careful there are a lot of spelling Nazis out there looking to nit pick at every little mistake that you make. I am not an English teacher and from time to time I do make mistakes that I do not catch. You do not have to be perfect! Just do the best job that you can while getting your point across.
The rest will fall into place!
