Here is a list of things that I have personally learned from 12 years online running an Internet business that will speed up your learning curve when it comes to growing your online business and making more money online that you can greatly benefit from.

After 12 Years Internet Marketing Here Is What I've Learned About Making Money Online affiliate marketing

  1. Starting and building an Internet business is not easy it takes a lot of work, persistence, reading, learning, and executing to make your business profitable and to keep your business profitable. But, it is well worth the effort!
  2. Search engine optimization is not reliable because Google can cut your free traffic down like a lumberjack on a pine tree. It can be here on minute and gone the next. I always consider search engine traffic  bonus free traffic. Never count on Google – so make sure you diversify your online assets!
  3. Start your own website or blog that you control so no-one can ever take this asset away from you and post your most valuable content to it.
  4. Having and growing your own email list is not a luxury it is a necessity.
  5. You have to be persistent with your Internet business even if you can only work on your business a few hours a day Monday-Friday you want to keep pushing that needle forward and growing your business.
  6. Outsource the tedious tasks that you are not good at and pick the handful of tasks that you are good at that directly correlate into money in your pockets. Such as Listbuilding, product creation, video creation, running Facebook ads or other pay per click strategies that can scale your business.
  7. The 80- 20 Pareto principle greatly applies to your online business so use it!
  8. Stick to one business model until it succeeds. Do not jump from opportunity to opportunity you will get no-where fast! My point: Stay laser focused!
  9. If there is a lot of competition in your chosen niche that is a good thing it means there is a lot of money to be made so don’t be scared of the competition welcome it with open arms.
  10. Creating your own product will give you credibility and authority in your niche people will see you as the go-to guy or girl on the subject and your profits will go up.
  11. Creating your own product and creating buzz about it will gain you a ton of affiliates who will bring you free traffic and sales on autopilot that you would have never been able to get otherwise. Clickbank and JVZoo are great affiliate networks to launch your future products with a huge affiliate userbase.
  12. High ticket products, services, and business opportunities should be your bread @ butter if you are an affiliate marketer because you do not need many $1k commissions  to earn a sizable income online each month.   13. Invest in yourself and always be learning for example if you are trying to learn how to get started as an affiliate marketer invest in a course it can shed years off of your learning curve, watch videos, and actually apply what you have learned on a daily basis until you start seeing positive results from your business. This philosophy applies for any Internet business regardless of what you are doing! Readers are leaders! Learn more to earn more!
  14.  Learn how to run pay per click campaigns like on Facebook, Google, and Bing.. Pay per click when done right is the easiest way to scale your business. When you  create a campaign that is profitable all you have to do is scale it if you are spending $5 bucks a day and making twenty then spend $10 bucks a day and make $40 so on and so forth. Pay per click is not easy there is a a learning curve involved but the results can be astronomical once you start to master it!
  15.  If you are an affiliate marketer a good mix of products to promote are high ticket, mid ticket, and recurring income products where you get paid for every sale that is generated month after month as long as that customer keeps paying for that particular product or service.
  16.  Learn how to setup a profitable email marketing funnel this is where the majority of the money that you make online will come from this is a great skill to master that can greatly effect the amount of money that you make online.
  17.  Write down your daily things to do so you do not forget and stay motivated.
  18. Like I said above concentrate on the things that directly make you money online @ outsource the rest. Pay per click, listbuilding, product creation, building a profitable funnel for example should be the skills that you are trying to master.
  19.  Remember the story of the tortoise and the hare? Although the hare was much faster, the persistent tortoise ended up winning the race. Think of your business in the same regard, just keep plugging away on the right tasks and good things are bound to happen for you and your business.
