Many of you know that read my blog and that I am passionate about Internet marketing.

With that being said, when I first started out back in 2006, I was looking for ways to make money from home so I could substitute my income. Back then, ebay was,  and continues to be, a household name.

I had read on numerous occasions of people making a whole lot of money selling wholesale products on ebay or their own websites. 

And a few other smaller companies similar to eBay. The eBay power-sellers were really making the big money in terms of millions of dollars a year.

I wanted to find out how they actually got a lot of their never-ending merchandise, to sell for such low prices, and make all that cash so they are able to quit their full-time jobs.

Hell,  if I could have even a fraction of their success I would be a happy man.

That was back then in 2006  when I first got started dropshipping, and selling various niche products on ebay, and my websites that came later. 

I am gonna give you a brief rundown of what drop shipping is, a few tips to get started, and then get into my full Salehoo review.

1. Dropshipping – Drop shipping is when you sell an item from a  retailer at a cost much lower than the general public gets. You then can make a profit on those items by selling them at a profit margin where you make money.

Meaning you raise the price a little bit while still offering a good deal to your customers that do not keep goods in stock, but instead transfer customer orders and shipment details to either the manufacturer or a wholesaler, who then ships the goods directly to the customer in your businesses name so they think the order is coming directly from your company.

You then rinse, wash, and repeat. The more items you sell, the more money you make it works out great for both parties.

2. Dropshipping Tip – Pick Niche Items – I like to pick items that are somewhat niches.

Meaning they will sell well, but there is low competition. Meaning more money for you, and your business.

Here’s My Salehoo Review Here’s What I Found Out!

I was on a mission to research as many different dropshippers out there as possible. I wanted to see all the reviews and customer comments. Are people making money using a particular dropshipper? Etc… Etc… I wanted answers to my questions and I was determined to find them.

My main concern was trying to find out what dropshippers had the most positive reviews, a low-cost start-up price, and at the same time if these customers are doing well meaning were they finding good products to sell, and making good money with that particular dropshipper.

After hours turned into days of solid research online, I was shocked to find out that a lot of the dropshipping companies were nothing but scams.!

I actually signed up with one particular dropshipping company. Let’s just say it did not go too well.  

I am not going to mention their name because that is not my style.

Even though I probably should! What appealed to me was the quality of the websites that they were offering to their paid members.

They were nice, I must say.

The websites were pre-made company-type websites that had all of their products ready for you to sell online.

Sounds good so far, huh? It gets worse trust me. 

This particular ( dropshipper ) or company charged $30 a month for your pre-made dropshipping business. 

I can guarantee you this scam was how they made the majority of their money. The products were pretty cool, too.

But that is where the good things end. 

They conveniently left out that the shipping on these products was even more than what the products were worth.  Which I painfully found out later.

I probably should of researched this particular drop shipper a little better than I did the others.

But I was anxious to get started making some money online.

The prices were somewhat reasonable on the majority of their items, and you could adjust the prices to whatever you wanted which was cool,  but keep in mind you do not want to make the products so expensive that nobody buys them so it is a delicate balance.

What really killed the sale was when your potential customer saw how much it’s gonna cost him, or her, to ship the merchandise that they were thinking of buying.

They run like a cheetah chasing a gazelle. Who in their right mind would pay the same price for an item as they pay for shipping?

Unless you’re buying hundreds of dollars of merchandise? Or you’re rich?

It is gonna be extremely hard to run a profitable eBay business with your shipping costs being sky high.

But I tried them out on eBay,  and after 2 months guess what? A lot of clicks on my order pages but no sales.

I am in business to earn money, not lose it.  I was out $60 bucks and a lot of wasted time.  Our time is our most valuable asset I hate wasting it.

So I decided to cut my losses and cancel my recurring membership with this crummy dropshipper.

It was back to the drawing board for me. 

I didn’t give up my mission to find a reputable dropshipper who was legit, and I could run a profitable business from home by using their services. 

Oh yeah, and no recurring membership prices. That should of been a red flag right there.

A legitimate dropshipper should only charge you a one-time fee for their services.

I still knew there were a lot of people out there who were making a full-time income online selling products on eBay.

Hell, I had a few friends whose relatives were successful at it.

If these people were buying wholesale, who was their source? How were they able to sell hundreds of items on a daily basis on eBay and their websites and return a nice profit margin?

I was going to find it if it literally killed me! After many more long hours doing more research on the Internet. 

I browse through blogs and forums, looking at all the reviews on the various drop shippers out there. 

I found 2 companies that stood out way above the competition, and Salehoo was at the top of my list.

The Reviews Dwindled Down To My 2 Finalists With The Most Positive Reviews. Why Salehoo Was My Winner?

Salehoo, and Worldwide Brands – They both had a lot of positive reviews out there online –  so I had to dig deeper into Salehoo, and worldwide brands, to find out who I was gonna spend my hard earned cash on.  Worldwide brands at the time wanted $300 dollars for their one-time membership.

Way back in 2006 I was very new to drop shipping and I did not want to spend a small fortune on a risky new proposition. Hell, what if I failed? I am out $300 bucks. There was no way I was willing to pay out that much cash as a beginner to dropshipping. 

The high startup costs turned me off from signing up with them. Remember a low start-up cost was one of my main criteria for a potential dropshipping company.

On to my second finalist Salehoo. I read even more reviews on salehoo.com and I must say the reviews were very positive. People were actually doing really well with this particular dropshipper.  These reviews from customers past, and present, were a huge positive sign for me. I made sure these reviews came from reputable sources too, not any shady websites.

Step Number 2 Price? How much does Salehoo cost to get started as a member? I found out it was very reasonable, only a $67.00 one time fee for a full lifetime membership much better than the $300 worldwide brands was charging!

And people were actually earning some pretty good money on eBay based on the Salehoo reviews I read by using Salehoo’s extensive database of wholesale suppliers.

Salehoo wins My Business

So I signed up with Salehoo that day thinking to myself I hope this works. I was pretty excited to get started and learn everything I could about dropshipping, and earning some cash with Salehoo.  I paid my $67 dollar salehoo membership fee which was very affordable to me.

I then got my Salehoo login information and then logged into my Salehoo membership site control panel.  Everything was laid out pretty well in easy-to-read,  and understandable categories. I already had some ideas of the type of products that I wanted to sell.

These were gonna be niche items  with good prices, and low competition. I did not want to be competing with the big boys right off the bat in the most popular niches such as the electronics niche. Everyone loves them, but it is very competitive at the same time, especially on eBay.

I found some cool diamonds in the rough that would sell well in my opinion – and I was not competing against everyone and their mom.

I then posted a few of these niche items that I had found through Salehoos wholesalers to sell on ebay.

On my second day I had 3 bids on one item that I had posted, and 4 on the other item. Too make a long story short, I sold both of these niche items after the eBay bidding process was over, and I pulled in a hundred dollars in cash between both of them.

That was after shipping and the price Salehoo charges or Salehoo’s wholesale price after you successfully sell a product. 

Needless to say, I was pretty happy, I finally found a dropshipper that actually lives up to their promises and I am making money that was the important part.

So I kept up this process rinse, wash, and repeat! With some product research, I was pulling in a nice side income 3 months down the road.

Not too shabby if I don’t say so myself for just a beginner. Salehoo definitely lived up to my expectations and then some.

I continued to do better, and better, down the road.

I was making more and more money. And it all started with my Salehoo membership.

Fast Forward Years Later In 2024 My Salehoo Review + Update:

I’m 5 years into to my salehoo membership and I’m still making a great income too this day by dropshipping through salehoo.

I have ventured more into internet marketing, mainly affiliate marketing in the last five years. 

I have numerous blogs and websites that make me money on a daily basis.

But Salehoo did start it all. I dabbled in dropshipping before I even started to learn about affiliate marketing.

In 2024 still do dropshipping and I am successful at it but most of my time is spent on this blog, and teaching people like you all about internet marketing, and the various ways to make money online.

But I realize internet marketing, and affiliate marketing is not everyone’s cup of tea.

Some people enjoy selling physical products on Ebay and that is o.k… There is more than one way to make money online and Salehoo is a nice alternative or an addition to affiliate marketing.
