When it comes to driving traffic to your website or offer most of us think of it in terms of searching or seeking for traffic online, but the thing is you do not need to look for traffic because traffic is everywhere on the internet.
What do I mean when I say it’s everywhere?
It’s on facebook, blogs, Youtube, Google, Bing, yahoo, forums, Amazon, Ebay, the list is endless.
There are a lot of sources of good quality targeted traffic on the internet and instead of looking for traffic, what you want to do is just step in front of the already existing traffic and drive it to where ever you want it to go, whether it be to your website, blog, video or affiliate offer. Once you have identified your source, all you need to do is seek out a strategy to drive the traffic from the source to your desired destination.
There Are 3 Strategies That You Can Use To Drive Targeted Traffic To Where You Want It.
Instant Traffic strategies – Social media traffic and paid traffic like PPC, media buys, solo ads etc.
Returning Traffic Strategies – Build a list or create crazy awesome, gob-smacking Superman content for discussions that will give them a reason to come back.
Long-term Traffic Strategies – SEO, Content syndication, blogging, Guest blogging/posting, Article marketing, YouTube, Slide share, Document sharing websites.
This is usually what is termed, “Free traffic” and I will be sharing with you two of the most effective free traffic strategies that I use that have helped me to drive highly targeted visitors to my blog and offers.
In terms of free traffic, I think people concentrate WAY too much on putting out as much content as possible, whether it be blogging twice a day or submitting 20 videos to YouTube, but in my opinion and from my experience content is like eating at a great restaurant.
It’s the QUALITY that’s most important, and not the quantity. One article could result in hundreds or tons of free traffic if it’s great content, same with a YouTube video… whereas if you spin your article into a million articles that don’t make any sense, chances are you won’t generate any leads from it, or at best very little.
The first traffic source I am going to be talking about is forum marketing. Smart forum marketing is and will always be a great way to drive free high quality traffic to your website. Find forums related to your niche by going to google and searching for “keyword + forum” and register to every forum that you can find.
You will notice that I said “smart forum marketing” so you are not going to post about your website ever – unless someone else mentions it in a forum post or thread. You are going to provide valuable information and engage on forums conversations. Act like a normal forum member who wants to learn, collaborate and share what you know.
After 15-20 posts you will add your website to your signature line. Make it interesting so other forum members will notice it and want to click. When you add your signature line it is going to appear on every post you have made so far and that is how you are going to market your website without talking about it directly on your posts. Once you have your signature line then you need to do these four things: Post valuable content, post at least five times a day, be at least among the first 3 who respond to a post and start at least 3 posts.
However, make sure you read the forum rules before you even start to make your first posts. Some forums do not allow links on signature lines so it would be a waste of time and effort to find that out later on. Also, each forum has its own rules and you should know them in order to be safe and build a good reputation which is going to help you attract more eyes to your signature line and website.
The second traffic source I will talk about is guest blogging. Guest blogging on blogs within the same niche is a great way to drive lots of free traffic. If you know you are a good writer, you can write your own articles otherwise, buying some well written articles and submitting them as a guest blogger, would be well worth the investment.
You can do a search on Google using the terms, “submit a guest post”, “guest post guidelines”, “accepting guest posts” with the niche keywords behind it, and you will find plenty of blogs accepting guest post’s.
Also you don’t have to find blogs accepting them, you can just email webmasters in the same niche, and offer them free content via quality guest posting, many would welcome you to post with open arms.
A well placed guest post, on a site with a lot of traffic, and mass social following could bring thousands of free visitors to your site. Guest posting is one of the most underrated free traffic methods.
Most free traffic takes a few weeks or months to build up. So if you’re doing free traffic and it’s looking slow, don’t give up. Keep going! Can I share a secret with you?
